Rome, Nov. 11 (LaPresse) – The RSU (Workers’ Council) of Teatro La Fenice in Venice, in a statement, announced that it has “sent a formal request for a meeting to the President of the Veneto Region in order to urgently start a constructive dialogue regarding the situation following the appointment of Maestro Beatrice Venezi as music director of the theater.” The workers’ representatives added that “it is essential for a cultural institution of such high prestige to continue operating in a climate of transparency, serenity, and mutual respect, which are indispensable for ensuring the quality and continuity of artistic and productive activities. The RSU emphasizes that Teatro La Fenice is a heritage of the city of Venice, the Veneto Region, and the entire country, and that every decision regarding its artistic direction must aim to protect its cultural value and enhance the professionalism at the heart of its operations. While awaiting a prompt response, the RSU reiterates its willingness to engage in dialogue and discussion, in the shared interest of the artistic community and the public.”
