Trains, Salvini: ‘Punctuality will increase in 2025’

Milan, 16 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘Any type of disruption to rail transport cannot be accepted as normal. However, it should be noted that in the first months of 2025 the punctuality of all rail services provided has increased. These results are the result of the work of a great team, to guarantee a punctual and quality rail service’. Thus, during Question Time in the Chamber of Deputies, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, said: ‘As I have had the opportunity to represent on other occasions, it is not a simple period, given that we have more than 1,200 construction sites open, and we have also recorded an increase in trains in circulation, to an all-time high. There was a record number of passengers transported in 2024, over half a billion people. After years of frozen investments and ideological opposition, we are now focused on extending the high-speed and regional networks. It is clear that the benefits of the effort will only be measurable once the construction sites and works are completed,’ Salvini added.
