Milan, Aug 4 (LaPresse) – Gas bills for July are down by 1% compared to June for customers under the Vulnerability Protection Service. This was announced by Arera, the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks, and Environment. In July, wholesale prices remained essentially unchanged from June, and the price for the gas commodity alone for protected vulnerable customers is set at €36.68 per megawatt hour. The component of the gas price covering supply costs, applied to customers under the Vulnerability Protection Service, is updated by Arera as the monthly average of the Italian wholesale market price (PSV day ahead) and published within the first two working days of the following month. For July 2025, the reference gas price for the new typical customer is €1.0872 per cubic meter (-1% compared to June), broken down as follows: €0.4263 (39.21% of the total bill) for natural gas procurement and related activities; €0.0602 (5.54%) for retail sales; €0.2320 (21.34%) for transport, metering, distribution, and related services; €0.0498 (4.58%) for general system charges; and €0.3189 (29.33%) for taxes.
