Confcommercio: ‘In 2025, household spending will be up €239, but the gap with 2007 remains’

Rome, 27 August (LaPresse) – In 2025, real per capita spending in the economy reached €22,114 (compared to €19,322 in 1995), an increase of €239 compared to 2024 but still below the peaks of 2007 (-€220). This is according to the Confcommercio research centre. The technological revolution has left its mark on Italians' spending habits: over the last three decades, per capita spending on IT and telephones has grown by a staggering 3,000%. At the same time, spending on leisure activities – particularly cultural and recreational services – has also shown significant growth, with a real increase of over 120%.
