Former Ilva, Urso: ‘Broad consensus on relaunch through electric furnace in Genoa’

Genoa, Sept. 2 (LaPresse) – "We have had a transparent dialogue with all political forces, a responsible discussion with the city, the region, all institutional stakeholders, trade unions, industrial representatives, and citizens' associations. We recorded broad consensus among all institutional actors in favor of revitalizing the steel industry in the Cornigliano hub and connected plants through the use of electric furnaces and green technology, as outlined in the plan that also includes the construction of an electric furnace for the northern area of the city of Genoa." This was stated by Adolfo Urso, Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, today in Genoa at the end of a meeting with institutions regarding the revitalization of the former Ilva site.
