Fuel, Urso: ‘Oil companies summoned; the reduction in oil prices must be reflected at the pump’

Rome, 8 April (LaPresse) – ‘I have summoned the four major fuel suppliers for a meeting tomorrow afternoon to ensure they understand that price adjustments must be made immediately.’ This was stated by the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, at a press conference with the Vice-President of the European Commission, Stéphane Séjourné, following a meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development with business associations, in response to a question regarding the impact of the ceasefire in the Middle East on diesel and petrol prices. ‘If, as we all hope, the agreement just announced regarding the conflict has led to a significant and immediate reduction in the cost of oil and gas at international level, this reduction in prices must also take place immediately within the national distribution network.’
