Boating: Admiral's Cup, the Monaco Yacht Club celebrates victory by welcoming the trophy

Rome, 16 September. (LaPresse) – Two months after winning the Admiral's Cup, the Yacht Club de Monaco welcomed the arrival of the cup at the clubhouse with an official presentation attended by the president of the YCM, Prince Albert II, the skippers, the vice-president of the YCM Pierre Casiraghi and Peter Harrison, and the crew members of Jolt 6 and Jolt 3. This symbolic welcome marks the Principality's entry into an exclusive circle of clubs that have won the competition, often referred to as the Davis Cup of ocean racing. Launched in 1957 by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), the Admiral's Cup has long been considered the unofficial world championship for ocean racing teams. After an absence of almost twenty years, the event made its return in 2025, attracting 15 nations, each with two boats, to compete in a challenging programme that begins with the Channel Race, continues with a series of inshore races and culminates in the Rolex Fastnet Race. In its first ever participation, the Yacht Club de Monaco finished first in the overall standings, ahead of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. ‘With all the hard work and results achieved, you have turned our dreams into reality,’ said YCM Secretary General Bernard d'Alessandri.
