Film: Glenn Close and Ridley Scott to receive Oscars for lifetime achievement

Turin, 10 June (LaPresse) – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present Lifetime Achievement Oscars to actress Glenn Close and director Ridley Scott. Animator Floyd Norman will also be honoured, whilst producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler, long-time supporters of independent cinema, will receive the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award. Close has eight acting nominations to her name but has never won. Scott has received three nominations for Best Director and one for Best Producer for Best Picture, but has never taken home the prestigious statuette. The awards will be presented at the 17th Academy Governors Awards, scheduled for 15 November at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.
