Cecchettin case, Turetta transferred to section for common prisoners

Milan, 1 Mar. (LaPresse) – Filippo Turetta, sentenced to life imprisonment for the femicide of Giulia Cecchettin, imprisoned in Montoro prison, in Verona, has been transferred from the ‘protected’ section to a medium security one. This is according to the newspaper La Repubblica. Turetta's lawyers, Giovanni Caruso and Monica Cornaviera, have sent a report to the prison management and, for information, to the Court of Assizes and the Public Prosecutor's Office in Venice to express a ‘potential form of concern’ and ask, ‘for the time being’, that the 23-year-old former student from Torreglia be returned to where he was before. The transfer was decided mainly because of overcrowding in the protected section, reserved for offenders who have been strongly condemned by society.
