Rome, May 2 (LaPresse) – It was an extraordinary turnout of over 200,000 people recorded yesterday by the Rome Police Headquarters during the traditional concert organized by the trade unions CGIL, CISL, and UIL. For the 2025 edition, the event returned to Piazza San Giovanni and saw a steadily growing crowd throughout the day. Starting around 1 p.m., the gathering eventually occupied the entire road surface and the surrounding urban area, continuing without interruption until approximately 11 p.m.
The “major event” management model was adopted for handling security during the musical event, structured through parallel plans integrating public safety, medical services, fire prevention, mobility measures, and logistics coordination with the public transport company. All operations were overseen by the Major Events Management Center, active from early morning at the Rome Police Headquarters Operations Room.
Crowd management was ensured by Police Headquarters officials over approximately twenty hours of service. Starting around 5:30 p.m., access restrictions were implemented to ensure the event areas remained safely occupied.
