Milan, 19 May (LaPresse) – At the Shoah Memorial in Milan, the words “Free Pal” and red paint on the Star of David have defaced the mural 'Binario 21. The Jewish Simpsons deported to Auschwitz," created by contemporary artist aleXsandro Palombo. The mural, created on 27 January 2023 on Holocaust Remembrance Day, depicted the Simpson family as deportees to Auschwitz. This is not the first time that the works of aleXsandro Palombo have been targeted. He has dedicated murals to figures such as Liliana Segre, Sami Modiano and Edith Bruck, three of the last Italian witnesses of the Shoah. These works have also been vandalised.
