‘We must seek together how to be a missionary Church, a Church that builds bridges, dialogue, always open to welcoming […] with open arms everyone, all those who need our charity, our presence, dialogue and love.’ These were the words of Pope Leo XIV as he received in audience the officials of the Roman Curia, the employees of the Holy See, the Governorate of Vatican City State and the Vicariate of Rome, repeating his first words after his election on 8 May. "Each one gives his or her contribution by carrying out his or her daily work with commitment and also with faith, because faith and prayer are like salt for food, they give flavour. If, therefore, we must all cooperate in the great cause of unity and love, let us do so first of all through our behaviour in everyday situations, starting from our working environment. Everyone can be a builder of unity through their attitude towards their colleagues, overcoming inevitable misunderstandings with patience and humility, putting themselves in other people's shoes, avoiding prejudice, and also with a good dose of humour, as Pope Francis has taught us,‘ added Prevost, who then greeted everyone by saying, ’Thank you again and best wishes."
