Brescia: online fascist propaganda, one arrest and searches throughout Italy

Rome, July 17 (LaPresse) – The Carabinieri’s Special Operations Group, supported by the provincially competent commands and coordinated by the Brescia Public Prosecutor’s Office in close cooperation with the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate, have begun executing a precautionary measure ordered by the Brescia judge Alessandro D’Altilia against a 21-year-old man from Brescia. Additionally, 26 personal and premises search warrants have been issued by Deputy Prosecutor Caty Bressanelli against as many individuals, all suspected of belonging to virtual far-right groups holding radical neo-Nazi, accelerationist, supremacist, xenophobic, and anti-Semitic positions. The investigation, started in December 2023, initially developed through constant technical monitoring of the young man’s Telegram and TikTok social media profiles, gathering evidence of propaganda promoting racial and ethnic superiority and hatred, including Holocaust denial and minimization; participation in several Telegram groups inciting discrimination or violence based on race, nationality, or religion; and glorification of fascism.
