Naples, 18 July (LaPresse) – No damage has been reported in Naples in relation to the 4.0 magnitude earthquake that struck at 9.14 a.m. with its epicentre between the municipalities of Naples and Pozzuoli. This was reported by Edoardo Cosenza, Councillor for Infrastructure, Mobility and Civil Protection of the Municipality of Naples, explaining that ‘specific inspections are continuing in public buildings, but we do not expect anything serious’. The earthquake, he explained, occurred ‘within a fault line in the sea between Pozzuoli and Naples. As has already happened, this fault line generates earthquakes that are felt strongly in Naples’. The accelerations are “equal to or slightly greater than those of the earthquake on 13 March. And therefore the same proportion of actions on buildings. Usual response spectrum shapes, with amplification only for short periods”.
