There must be a way to restore their lives, dignity and all their lost humanity.’ These were the words of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, during a joint press conference at the Notre Dame Centre in Jerusalem. ‘It is time to put an end to this absurdity, to end the war and to give absolute priority to the common good of the people,’ Pizzaballa continued. "We pray and call for the release of all those who have been deprived of their freedom, the return of the missing and hostages, and the healing of families who have been suffering for a long time, everywhere in the world. When this war is over, we will have a long road ahead of us to begin the process of healing and reconciliation between the Palestinian people and the Israeli people, starting with the many wounds that this war has caused in the lives of so many people."
