Milan, 6 September (LaPresse) – A crowd of people has been queuing since this morning to enter the funeral parlour of Giorgio Armani, the king of fashion who passed away last Thursday at the age of 91. The funeral parlour, set up at the Armani Theatre in Via Bergognone in Milan, opened at 9 a.m. this morning, but people arrived even earlier to pay their last respects to Armani. The funeral parlour will also be open tomorrow. The private funeral is scheduled for Monday, and Milan will be in mourning. Mayor Beppe Sala also visited the funeral parlour today. “The first thing is his inscription in the Famedio, which I am absolutely in favour of,” said the mayor. The Famedio is located at the entrance to Milan's monumental cemetery and pays tribute to the memory of illustrious citizens of Milan who have distinguished themselves through literary, scientific or artistic works or for having made the city famous.
