Rome, Gualtieri: ‘Within five years, we will be able to swim in the Tiber.’

Rome, 11 September (LaPresse) – ‘What pleases us is that we have found that within five years we will be able to swim in the Tiber.’ This was stated by the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, on the sidelines of the event “The Eternal City welcomes the future. Attractiveness, culture, beauty and innovation”, organised at the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. “There are some areas that are already suitable for swimming in certain places, but in order to make it fully suitable for swimming, some work is needed,” said Gualtieri. “We have already set up a working group that will soon be inter-institutional. I have spoken personally with Minister Pichetto Fratin and President Rocca, so together with the government and the region, this group will work on the necessary investments.”
