Naples, beats wife and daughter: 61-year-old arrested

Rome, Sept 17 (LaPresse) — This morning, Carabinieri from the Varcaturo station arrested a 61-year-old man responsible for violence against his wife and daughter. The two women, aged 57 and 31, suffered injuries and bruises with a prognosis of 42 days each. The operations center of the Giugliano company received a call around 8 a.m. from the younger daughter, terrified by her father's attack. Upon arrival, the apartment showed clear signs of struggle, including blood on the floor and light switch, and a damaged door. The 31-year-old daughter was barricaded in a room with a swollen face, swollen lips, and a bleeding nose, while the mother had bruises and scratches. The daughter told officers about repeated abuse over time, supported by photos and videos stored on her smartphone. The latest incident started when the women suggested the man go to work, which triggered insults ("You’re fat! You’re ugly!") and beatings, during which the mother tried unsuccessfully to protect her daughter. Previously, the man had committed extreme violence, such as ripping the scalp of his disabled wife. The 61-year-old was arrested on charges of domestic abuse and aggravated assault, while the victims were taken to Pozzuoli hospital for treatment.
