Rome, 5 October (LaPresse) – "Having to justify freedom of choice is in itself a paradox. But in a world where you have to ask permission to make decisions about your own body, I am happy to have so many people fighting for a common ideal. This is not just my story, it is everyone's story." Thus begins the letter from Ada, a 44-year-old woman from Campania, read at the Luca Coscioni Association Congress currently underway in Orvieto by her sister Celeste, as Ada, diagnosed with ALS last year, is no longer able to speak. Yesterday, she released a video appeal to politicians and the health authority that denied her the right to assisted suicide. Now, through the legal team coordinated by lawyer Filomena Gallo, national secretary of the Luca Coscioni Association, she has had to file an urgent appeal with the court in Naples and is awaiting a new assessment of her condition.
