Rome, 22 October (LaPresse) – ‘We are confident in our certainty: the complete innocence of the Mottolas. Justice in Italy is slow but it arrives, and for the Mottolas it has already arrived twice, to our satisfaction.’ These are the words of lawyer Francesco Maria Germani, part of the defence team representing Franco Mottola, former commander of the Carabinieri station in Arce, his son Marco and his wife Annamaria, who are on trial in the second appeal for the murder of Serena Mollicone, a student from Arce, in the province of Frosinone, who was murdered in 2001. The body of the 18-year-old was found in the Fonte Cupa woods in the municipality of Fontana Liri, in the province of Frosinone.
