Pavia System, Review: ‘No evidence of corruption, Venditti opposed favours’

Milan, 17 Nov. (LaPresse) – In the Brescia Public Prosecutor's investigation into the “Pavia system”, there is no “potentially indicative investigative evidence” that Mario Venditti and Public Prosecutor Pietro Paolo Mazza received benefits for performing “acts contrary to their official duties aimed at favouring the private individual” who provided the Public Prosecutor's Office with interception and decoy services. ‘On the contrary, the only evidence present is negative’ and saw Venditti ‘react negatively to the request’ from two Carabinieri officers to ‘obtain a permit for the restricted traffic zone for D'Arena’, a partner in the companies Esitel and CR Service, ‘inviting him not to follow up on it’. This is how the Brescia Review Court justified its decision to annul the seizures against the retired magistrate and the public prosecutor, now serving in Milan, who are under investigation for corruption and embezzlement in the “Pavia system” investigation, due to the lack of serious evidence.
