Parma, 24 Nov. (LaPresse) – The Court of Cassation has confirmed the extradition of the Ukrainian citizen detained in Italy for the Nord Stream case, rejecting the appeal and confirming his transfer to Germany in the proceedings relating to the alleged sabotage of the gas pipeline. His lawyer, Nicola Canestrini, stated: "The Court has rejected our appeal. We respect this decision, as is right in a state governed by the rule of law, even though we do not agree with its conclusions. Precisely because this interpretation further restricts the scope for the protection of fundamental rights in the execution of European arrest warrants, it must be taken seriously and analysed critically – and we will work to counter its less convincing aspects in the necessary legal and public dialogue that will follow."
