Nada Cella murder: Cecere sentenced to 24 years, Soracco to 2 years

Genoa, 15 January (LaPresse) – Annalucia Cecere, charged with aggravated murder for futile reasons, excluding the aggravating circumstance of cruelty, was sentenced to 24 years, while Marco Soracco, found guilty of aiding and abetting, was sentenced to 2 years. This was the ruling of the Court of Assizes of Genoa after more than 7 hours of deliberation before the first-instance verdict in the trial for the murder of Nada Cella, the 24-year-old secretary killed in Chiavari in 1996. Judge Massimo Cusatti read out the verdict. Anna Lucia Cecere, the former teacher from Cuneo who was the main defendant, accused of murder aggravated by futile motives, never appeared in court since the trial began in January 2025. The prosecution had requested a life sentence for her. According to the public prosecutor's argument, the woman killed in a fit of rage driven by jealousy.
