Rome, Apr 2 (LaPresse) – The Rome Prosecutor’s Office has sent to the judge for preliminary investigations (GIP) at the capital’s court a request for the indictment of Giusi Bartolozzi, former chief of staff to Minister Nordio. The accusation concerns alleged false statements made to prosecutors during her hearing before the Tribunal of Ministers, in the context of the Almasri case – involving the Libyan police officer accused of torture, who was arrested in Italy and then repatriated on a flight operated by the intelligence services. Meanwhile, the Chamber of Deputies’ presidency office yesterday proposed raising a conflict of jurisdiction before the Constitutional Court; a parliamentary vote on the matter is expected in the coming days.
