Milan, 30 April (LaPresse) – Andrea Sempio “cannot fathom this sexual motive”. This is according to the 38-year-old’s lawyers, Angela Taccia and Liborio Cataliotti. ‘He tells me,’ explained the lawyer, who is also a long-standing friend of the suspect in the Garlasco murder case, ‘‘but I didn’t have any relationship with this girl, in the sense of a ‘social’ relationship; it’s not clear where they’re getting this from, given that he didn’t socialise with her, didn’t see her often – in fact, when he went to Chiara Poggi’s house, it was to work’.’ ‘We have to wait,’ the defence lawyers concluded, ‘because until we have the case files, we cannot understand the rationale behind this new charge, which is, in any case, flexible and provisional.’
