Sergio Ramelli: four far-right activists charged with assaulting a 33-year-old man

Milan, 30 April (LaPresse) – Those responsible for the attack on a 33-year-old man who was tearing down posters for Sergio Ramelli, the Youth Front activist killed by members of Avanguardia Operaia, have been identified and reported to the police. The attack took place in Via Aselli in Milan during the night between Sunday and Monday. Carabinieri from the Milano Porta Monforte unit have reported four Italian men, aged between 35 and 37, all far-right militants with specific police records, on bail for causing bodily harm and assault. The four, acting in concert with another individual currently being identified, were walking along Via Aselli when they first attacked the victim with kicks, punches and blows from a helmet, catching him in the act of removing posters commemorating the 51st anniversary of Sergio Ramelli’s death. Subsequently, having returned to the scene in a car belonging to one of them, they attacked the man again, as well as three other young men who, though uninvolved in the incident, were coming to his aid. As a result of these events, the victim sustained injuries expected to heal within seven days, whilst the others who were attacked did not require medical treatment. Further investigations are still ongoing to piece together the events and identify all those involved.
