Garlasco murder case, Cataliotti: ‘Sempio’s audio transcript proves nothing’

Rome, 11 May (LaPresse) – ‘From the transcript of that wiretap – for which we do not yet have the audio – it is clear that it is incomprehensible; I apologise for the play on words, but the audio is not clear, it is not crisp.’ This was stated by Liborio Cataliotti, Andrea Sempio’s lawyer, speaking on ‘Dentro la Notizia’ on Canale 5 regarding the ambient wiretaps of Sempio, described as self-incriminating in relation to the murder of Chiara Poggi, for which he is under investigation on charges of murder. ‘Let’s assume, without conceding it, that the audio is accurate,’ adds Cataliotti, ‘something happened that day at half past nine. From my point of view, unless one necessarily links it to the murder, it means nothing. And I’ll go further: even if one were to contextualise the phrase ‘something happened at half past nine’, it would prove nothing,’ concludes Cataliotti.
