Naples, Dec. 31 (LaPresse) – Francesco Castiello, a senator from the Five Star Movement (M5S), passed away last night at the age of 82. The news was announced by Virginia Villani, the provincial coordinator of the M5S in Salerno, and Salvatore Micillo, the regional coordinator for Campania. Castiello, 82, was born and resided in Vallo della Lucania (Salerno). He was serving his second consecutive term in the Senate, elected in the single-member constituency of Campania 11 – Battipaglia. Castiello was a member of the Culture Commission and the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission investigating organized crime and other criminal associations, including foreign ones.
