Rome, 10 June (LaPresse) – "The Vespucci has taken Italy around the world, making a great contribution to the prestige of our country and the history of the Navy. I believe that passing Cape Horn was the most exciting moment, although it is difficult to forget the many passages the ship has made over the last two years. It was a masterpiece of navigational skill. I can imagine the fatigue during those hours, but also the excitement and involvement, the shared awareness of what was being achieved." These were the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, as he greeted the crew on board the Italian Navy ship Amerigo Vespucci on its last stop of its world tour, in the port of Genoa. “Thank you for what you have done, best wishes for your future careers and congratulations,” he added.
