Rome, June 20 (LaPresse) – "The agreements we signed today amount to a total of €1.2 billion in concrete commitments," said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the end of the summit "The Mattei Plan for Africa and the Global Gateway: A Common Effort with the African Continent", held at Villa Doria Pamphilj in Rome.
"We have already scheduled two new meetings. Next July, I will return to Africa, specifically to Ethiopia, and in the second half of 2026, the second edition of the Italy-Africa Summit will also take place on the African continent. So we are not talking about a one-off initiative, but about a journey. And as today clearly shows, it is a very concrete one," Meloni concluded.
