End of life, deadline for amendments postponed: likely to be delayed in the Senate

Rome, 8 July (LaPresse) – The deadline for submitting amendments to the draft law on end-of-life care, currently being examined by the Senate's Justice and Social Affairs Committees, has been postponed to Thursday at 11 a.m., initially scheduled for tomorrow. The Constitutional Affairs Committee, it is explained, at the request of the PD and M5S, will hold hearings on the constitutionality of the basic text adopted by the majority on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will then give its opinion. Hence, explains the chairman of the Health Committee, Francesco Zaffini, the decision to postpone. Does this mean that the measure will be postponed in the chamber? ‘Of course,’ he replied to LaPresse, ‘there is not enough time to go to the chamber with the mandate to the rapporteur in the week of 15-17. However, tomorrow there will be a conference of group leaders who will decide.’
