Tuscany, Conte: ‘Giani? It's not a question of names, we need a sign of renewal’

Rome, 16 July (LaPresse) – "When we evaluate coalitions in the regions, we never raise questions about positions or our own roles. We raise serious political issues. We come from a position of opposition to Giani's five-year term and have asked for strong signs of renewal. Now we will assess whether these signs are coming, also in light of the discussions taking place within the PD, because this is primarily an issue within the Democratic Party. For our part, with great consistency – I would also say humility, but firmness at the same time – we are calling for real renewal because it is a decision that will be taken by the region. As it has been taken elsewhere: I am thinking of the Marche and Veneto regions, where the situation has already been unblocked. And in the assemblies that have been held in our region, I am calling for a strong signal of renewal in order to justify shared responsibility in the new government'. These were the words of M5S leader Giuseppe Conte, speaking on the sidelines of a Movement event in the Chamber of Deputies.
