Rome, 26 July (LaPresse) – "I have said this several times, including in Parliament. I have said it to the Palestinian authorities themselves and I have also said it to Macron: I believe that recognising the State of Palestine without there being a State of Palestine could even be counterproductive to the goal. If something that does not exist is recognised on paper, the problem risks appearing to be solved when it is not.‘ This was stated to Repubblica by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. ’What I have said is the reason why, while I am very much in favour of the State of Palestine, I am not in favour of its recognition prior to a process for its establishment," explained the Prime Minister.
