Middle East, Albanese: "Antisemitism? Due to Israel’s Impunity, Innocent People Are in Danger"

Rome, July 29 (LaPresse) – Concerned about acts of antisemitism in Italy?
“Of course, I am very sorry and I abhor any form of discrimination against anyone, whether Jews, Muslims, or Christians. However, this issue must be understood in the context of the impunity enjoyed by Israel. I was the first to say that Jewish groups should not be blamed for the actions of the Israeli state. Even when they incomprehensibly defend Israel’s actions, the responsibility lies with the state. But clearly, faced with this fierce impunity enjoyed by Israel — partly due to our own government — unfortunately innocent people who have nothing to do with it are put in danger, and that saddens me.”

This is what Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, said during a press conference at the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
