Rome, Aug 11 (LaPresse) – Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the League, praised Veneto’s governance, calling it one of the best in Europe, and stated that in his view, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." He emphasized that, as in the Marche and Calabria, he does not intend to change the current political leadership in Veneto either. Salvini reminded that the League has 161 mayors and 1,200 local administrators in the region, highlighting the party’s strength and solidity there. He voiced confidence in these mayors, calling them “capable,” and urged the center-right to remain united, saying that unity is essential to prevent the “comrades” from governing for the next thirty years. On the prospect of a "Zaia list" in Veneto, Salvini said more choices for voters is better, signaling openness to a plurality of political options. The remarks were made during the Caffè della Versiliana event in Marina di Pietrasanta, where he reaffirmed Veneto’s centrality for the League and the importance of cohesion within the center-right to consolidate its leadership in the region.
