Rome, Sept. 19 (LaPresse) – “I should not comment on the choices of other states regarding political organizations. I don’t believe Salis is a terrorist. I have very different ideas from hers. There is a trial concerning her for alleged acts of violence she may have committed, but as far as I know she is not a terrorist.” With these words, Forza Italia leader and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, at the press conference presenting his party’s annual event, responded to a question about Hungary’s decision to officially designate ‘Antifa’ as a terrorist organization. Without naming her directly, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had referred to Italian MEP Ilaria Salis, who was arrested in Budapest in 2023 on charges of assaulting three neo-Nazi militants.
