Milan, Mar. 19 (LaPresse) – "This is not a reform against the judiciary, it is a reform that actually protects and enhances the role of judges." So said Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Forza Italia leader Antonio Tajani in an interview with Avvenire. According to him, the reform "makes each individual judge freer, even with respect to the factions," and moreover "it was the reform that Giovanni Falcone wanted and that today Antonio Di Pietro wants. Can anyone really think that they too are enemies of the judiciary?" Many judges, Tajani adds, "are in favor of 'Yes,' some say it openly, many others dare not for fear of retaliation from the factions, but they will vote yes in the secrecy of the ballot." Not by chance, Tajani emphasizes, "in all democratic countries there is career separation," and with a 'Yes' in the referendum "a fascist rule is set aside and we align ourselves with Europe."
