Government, Lollobrigida: ‘I don't see much demand for early elections’

Brussels, 30 March (LaPresse) – "I don’t get the impression that there are actually that many people calling for an early election. As far as we are concerned, our commitment is to go to a general election. That is the moment when a government’s performance is judged. After that, we are always open to discussing any option should the conditions and necessity arise. I don’t think there is a strong demand, even from the opposition, to go to the polls immediately. We believe that at this stage we must – and this is what I do constantly – continue to work to defend national interests.” This was stated by the Minister for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, at a press briefing on the sidelines of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels.
