25 April, ANPI: ‘Like the partisans, we will not be intimidated by attacks’

Rome, 26 April (LaPresse) – ‘Just as the partisans were not intimidated by attacks, round-ups and reprisals, we will continue our struggle in their memory and to preserve their legacy: the democratic Republic founded on labour and its Constitution, against all forms of Nazi-Fascism, authoritarianism and supremacism, for Peace, Freedom and Equality’. This was written by the ANPI provincial committee of Rome following Saturday’s shooting at Schuster Park. Regarding the “serious act of violence that occurred yesterday near Schuster Park, where the huge and very well-attended People’s Festival of Liberation from Nazi-Fascism was taking place, characterised by three shots fired from an air gun at two people wearing ANPI scarves around their necks”, writes ANPI Rome, ‘we express our deepest solidarity and sympathy with the victims of this cowardly attack and our strongest condemnation of the terrorist act that targeted them as representatives of the ANPI, identified by their scarves – the symbol of the Association of Partisans – on Liberation Day’.
