Italy-Africa, Meloni: “Commitment to a new model of cooperation and development”

Rome, May 25 (LaPresse) – “Today we celebrate Africa Day, on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity, now the African Union. Today we renew Italy’s commitment to building, together with African peoples, a new model of cooperation and mutual development.” So said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the occasion of Africa Day. “Africa is a cradle of resources, talent and remarkable dynamism, looking to the future with hope. With the Mattei Plan, Italy has chosen to support this path of growth, rejecting any logic of aid dependency and predation, working as equals to turn ideas into concrete programs, create jobs and ensure young people the right not to have to emigrate. From energy to agriculture, from digital infrastructure to water protection, up to healthcare, every one of our initiatives puts at its center the most precious resource: human capital and the training of young people. Italy is here. Alongside a young and dynamic continent, bound by a shared destiny that we build day after day through real projects and shared results,” the Prime Minister concluded.
