Rome, 31 March. (LaPresse) – In 2025, there will be 355 thousand births, a decrease of 3.9% compared to 2024. There will be 652 thousand deaths, a decrease of 0.2%. The natural balance (i.e. the difference between births and deaths) is largely negative (around -296 thousand units), worsening compared to 2024 when it was equal to -283 thousand. This is what emerges from Istat's demographic indicators published today. Furthermore, the decline in fertility continues in Italy: in 2025 it will fall to 1.14 children per woman.
