The Italian tennis player beat the young Brazilian tennis hopeful Joao Fonseca, who had eliminated Andrej Rublev on his debut, in the fifth set with a score of 7-6 (6), 3-6, 1-6, 6-3, 3-6 after three hours and 41 minutes of play. The player from Piedmont, number 55 in the ranking, will face the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, number 59 in the Atp ranking, in the third round.
