Turin, Feb. 6 (LaPresse) – Italy wins its second medal at the Alpine Ski World Championships in Saalbach, Austria.
Federica Brignone claimed silver in the Super-G, finishing with a time of 1'20"57, just behind Stephanie Venier, who took gold with 1'20"47.
The bronze medal was shared by American Lauren Macuga and Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, who finished 24 hundredths of a second behind the Austrian.
Just off the podium, Sofia Goggia placed fifth, 30 hundredths behind the winner after a few small mistakes.
Also making the top ten was Elena Curtoni, finishing ninth. Meanwhile, Lara Gut-Behrami disappointed, managing only eighth place.
For Brignone, this marks her fourth career world championship medal.
