Turin, 1 Mar. (LaPresse) – Sara Thaler wins the bronze medal in the super-G at the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio, in the province of Udine. The twenty year old from Ortisei in Val Gardena finished the Di Prampero run with the third best time, just 29 hundredths of a second behind the Swiss Jasmin Mathis, winner in 1'02‘30 with a 0’27 advantage over the Austrian Leonie Zegg. For the South Tyrolean athlete this is her first podium of the season, in a young career that has so far seen her achieve four European Cup podiums with two second and two third places in downhill; in the last edition of the youth world championships in Chatel 2024 (France) she was fourth in downhill and eleventh in super-G. The third place allows Thaler to nurture reasonable hopes of a podium place also in the team combined event that will end with the slalom run scheduled for 2 p.m., in which she will be paired with the specialist Tatum Bieler. Eleventh place then for Ludovica Druetto and Ludovica Righi, separated by 0‘86 and in a combined team with Giulia Valleriani and Ambra Pomarè respectively; Camilla Vanni was 26th (+1’96, in a team with Emilia Mondinelli).
