Rome, 6 Mar (LaPresse) – ‘Last year we had a good season but we obviously have room for improvement. Performance never depends on a single factor and there is no magic formula for improvement. In recent years we have taken a good step forward and we have to continue in the same direction but we can start with optimism’. So said Ferrari's team principal, Frederic Vasseur, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the new season that will see Louis Hamilton make his debut at the wheel of the Rossa alongside Charles Leclerc. ‘How did Leclerc experience the arrival of Hamilton? From day one I was convinced that Charles would benefit greatly from Lewis' arrival. Maybe it will take some of the pressure off him and he will be able to concentrate more on himself. That is good. He will also be able to learn a lot because Hamilton is a great professional and you can always learn something from whoever you are next to. After three or four years with Carlos, having a new team mate is really the best way to grow.' “They have great motivation,” Vasseur specifies, ’they are demanding, they push the team to the limit. We need this internal competition between them, that's where the performance comes from. If you look at last year or the last two years, we had great competition on the track between the two drivers and that was good for us.’
