F1, Saudi Arabian GP: McLaren 1-2 in FP2, Verstappen and Leclerc close behind

Rome, April 18 (LaPresse) – McLaren dominated the second free practice session of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah. Lando Norris topped the timesheets with a lap of 1:28.267, narrowly ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri by 163 thousandths. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was third (+0.280), followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (+0.482), with Carlos Sainz placing fifth in the Williams. Lewis Hamilton recorded the 13th-fastest time in the other Ferrari. The afternoon session was cut short a few minutes early due to a crash by Yuki Tsunoda. The Red Bull Racing driver misjudged the final corner, hitting the inside wall with his front-left tire. The impact broke the suspension arm, causing the car to slam into the opposite barrier.
