Football: Brazil-Ancelotti talks continue, Real Madrid contract is the sticking point

São Paulo (Brazil), May 1 (LaPresse/AP) – Negotiations are ongoing between the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and Carlo Ancelotti for the position of head coach of the Seleção. Two CBF sources confirmed this to the Associated Press, explaining that the main obstacle is the Italian coach's contract with Real Madrid, which runs for another season. Talks on behalf of the CBF are being led by president Ednaldo Rodrigues and national team sporting director Rodrigo Caetano. “They are keeping the negotiations under control. It’s clear that there is currently no definitive agreement with anyone,” the sources said, adding that the federation is “not in a hurry,” although it hopes to announce the new coach before May 20, when the squad for the next two World Cup qualifiers will be revealed.
