Rome, 22 May (LaPresse) – Olaf Kooij (Visma) won the 12th stage of the Giro d'Italia, from Modena to Viadana (Oglio-Po), covering 172 kilometres. The Dutchman benefited from the extraordinary work of his teammate, Belgian Wout Van Aert, who pulled from 900 to 250 metres from the finish line. Kooij finished ahead of his compatriot Van Uden, with Britain's Ben Turner third and Denmark's Mads Pedersen fourth. Mexico's Isaac Del Toro (UAE) continues to impress, gaining another 2‘ bonus thanks to his third place in the Red Bull Kilometre. He remains in the pink jersey with a 33’ lead over his teammate Juan Ayuso
