Football: Como officially signs Jesus Rodriguez from Betis

Turin, 2 July (LaPresse) – Jesús Rodríguez is a new player for Como. The Lombardy club announced the news in a statement. The 19-year-old Spanish winger, who joins from Real Betis, has signed a permanent contract with the club until June 2030. ‘During the last season, Rodríguez made 32 appearances in La Liga and also stood out with the Spanish Under-21 national team,’ reads the statement from Como. ‘Known for his speed, flair and direct attacking play, Rodríguez is considered one of the most exciting young talents in Spanish football and arrives in Como after already playing in an important European final.’ ‘Jesús is exactly the type of player we need at Como: courageous, direct and full of energy. He has a natural ability to break through the opposition's lines and take on defenders,’ said coach Cesc Fabregas. "As with everything here, it's not just about talent, but also character. We are building a team that presses, dominates possession and looks forward. Jesús already has high-level experience for his young age and I can't wait to start working with him.‘ ’I am really happy to be here and to be part of such an ambitious project,‘ emphasised Jesús. ’I arrived with great enthusiasm, a desire to grow and to give my all to pursue important goals. I am very motivated and determined. My first impression has been very positive. The welcome has been warm from all the club staff. Como is a beautiful city and I hope to enjoy it to the full, both on and off the pitch."
