Umag (Croatia), July 27 (LaPresse) – Luciano Darderi won the ATP 250 tournament in Umag, Croatia. Last night, the Italian player of Argentine origin defeated the Spaniard Carlos Taberner in two sets, 6-3, 6-3, in one hour and 20 minutes of play. Towards the end, Darderi injured his left ankle but still managed to finish the match.
For the 23-year-old, this is the third title won in 2025 after Marrakech and Bastad, and the fourth overall in his career. Before him, only Matteo Berrettini in 2024 and Paolo Bertolucci in 1977 had at least three ATP clay court titles in the same season.
From tomorrow, Darderi will be ranked number 35 in the world.
